Janice C. Swierczek, a native Trentonian, is the President of the Teal Tea Foundation as it enters its 15th year as a NJ non-profit, all volunteer organization committed to raising awareness of ovarian cancer and funding for a cure.
A Certified Public Manager (CPM) and 40 year employee, Janice was employed by the NJ State Department of Labor and Workforce Development in Human Resources as a Principal Training Technician where her primary responsibilities include providing department talent management and development; department Learning Management System Administrator; serves as the department Certified Public Manager Training Coordinator. Janice has also served as her department’s NJ State Employees Charitable Campaign Coordinator from 2007 through 2013 and was a member of the NJ State Employees Recognition Committee from 2005 – 2009.
Janice has held other positions in state government in the Dept of Human Services and with the Civil Service Commission in the fields of social service and employee training.
Janice received a BA from Caldwell University, a MA from Rider University and a CPM from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Recruited by dear best friend Jean Shipos, Janice joined the Teal Tea Foundation in 2005 to fight against ovarian cancer. Janice has served the Foundation as a member of the Grants Committee, the Educational Chair, Volunteer Chair and First Vice President before accepting the office of President. In 2012, Janice received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Teal Tea Foundation.
When not at work or volunteering, Janice is an active member of Toastmasters International club, Silver Tongues Toastmasters, Club #6692 and LWD Toastmasters, Club #4773. Janice has won many awards participating in Toastmasters speaking contests as well as serving in senior leadership positions within the organization. Janice achieved the highest educational and leadership designation awarded to a Toastmaster - Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). Janice is also active in her church and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening and reading.
Janice has one son, Justin, a practicing attorney in Walnut Creek, California.
